Dock Rules

1.   Empty boat trailers of Parkshore residents only can be stored on the east side of the park if the ground condition allows.

2.   Damage and repair costs to the park grounds is the responsibility of the Parkshore resident.

3.   No boat storage will be allowed at the park for any Parkshore residents.

4.   Launching of boats for non-residents is approved with 100% Parkshore resident escorts.  

5.   Any damages and costs to the boat launch are the responsibility of the Parkshore resident.

6.   Parkshore has two (2) individual docks that create the swimming area for the Park.

  • Maintenance, removal and install costs are paid for by the Parkshore resident’s yearly dues.

    • Please report any maintenance issue for docks to a board member.

  • The L-shaped, 7-section dock is utilized for swimming and launching of boats.

  • The straight, 6 section dock is utilized for swimming and day docking.

    • Day docking may only be utilized on the east side of the dock.

7.   Parkshore resident’s have the opportunity to be part of the community dock or individual’s private docks if there is availability.

8.   Parkshore resident’s shall submit their request for putting a boat in at a dock via the Parkshore Neighborhood website’s waiting list at: parkshoreneighborhood.org  > Parks and Docks > Dock Waiting List

9.   All docks shall be installed by Memorial Day at the latest.

  • Any docks remaining uninstalled will have their space transferred to the next Parkshore resident.

10. All docks shall be removed prior to ice formation on the lake.

  • All docks shall be neatly and safely stacked at the shore’s edge.

  • All non-dock lake equipment shall be removed from the beach and lakefront area. This includes trailers, boats, kayaks, life jackets, etc.  

11. Private docks shall be placed in its designated spot, spaced approx. 20’ apart. Extenuating circumstances can be brought to the board for approval.

12. Private docks shall be no longer than (7) sections east of the community dock. Each section shall not exceed 10’ in length. 

13. Private docks east of the community dock shall NOT hinder accessibility to the community dock. 

14. Private docks shall have at least two (2) separate resident boats per dock. A special case exists currently.

  • If a private dock owner will not share their dock, they will forfeit the dock space.

    • If this occurs, the dock space will go to the next person on the waiting list. However, the current dock will remain with the owner unless they decide to sell it to the next person on the waiting list.

  • The private dock owner and resident neighbor shall agree on sharing conditions.

15. Parkshore dock owners and neighbors shall utilize their space yearly. 

  • If space cannot be used (for a maximum of three years), the owner of the dock can loan their dock out for this time, at a maximum cost not exceeding install/removal total. 

  • If a space is vacant, the space will be transferred to the next person on the waiting list.

    • Special cases may arise and shall be discussed with the board for approval.

  • If the next available resident on the dock waiting list finds that a dock is not being used, they can seek an ability to loan from the owner, at a cost not exceeding the cost of install/removal. 

16. Dock slips shall not be a means of a rental by a current Parkshore resident dock owner, as Parkshore Association is a non-profit organization. (See item #15)

  • If this situation occurs, the dock owner will forfeit the space.

17. Dock slip spaces for all docks do not transfer ownership with the sale of your house.

  • If this situation occurs, the dock space will be transferred to the next resident on the waiting list.

  • The owner of the dock that is selling their house may choose to sell their dock to the next resident on the waiting list.
